How would you rewrite an ad for anti speeding targetting young men where an effect would happen?
Q. Clearly the ad is not working and needs a follow up, be positive, inclussive and dont discriminate in your ad suggestions please?
Asked by HerbalPhil Wellness Warrior! - Sun Jan 13 23:58:01 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. What ad are you talking about? Anyway, you could use the interested in sports stereotype and show a young athlete unable to compete on a sports team and lead his team to the championship, because he was killed by a speeding motorist. Or, since young men are not completely heartless like we are portrayed, you could show the face of a young child that was killed by a young male speeding motorist.

How much can entry level radio ad sales people expect to make?
Q. I'm going to an interview for an ad sales position at a small country radio station. How much do ad sales people make? Is it a fun job? Is it a hard job? Any input?

A. It will depend a lot on your market. How much are you selling spots for, etc. In a small medium sized market you may top out in the $30K range. Are you sales and commision ?

where do you post for free ad to give away pets?
Q. I looked on Craigslist & local freecycle lists and they don't allow ads for live animals. So, where can you post a free ad online to give away kittens / puppies?
Asked by center of the universe - Wed Jul 2 12:11:38 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's best not to give pets for free. A small adoption fee will help to insure a better home and life for the animal you are offering for adoption. Craigslist will allow you to post live animals. Per their prohibited items list: # Household pets of any kind including but not limited to dogs, cats, primates, cage birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish. Re-homing with small adoption fee OK Notice the last sentence: Re-homing with small adoption fee OK A quote from Never Offer a Pet "Free to good home" "It didn't cost me anything so I don't care if it dies." Unfortunately, this was an actual quote from an individual we know and would never have guessed their view of animals to be so inhumane. ~Mel

What is the difference between ad valorem tax and specific tax?
Q. Would it be better if fuel tax is taxed through a specific tax or an ad valorem tax?
Asked by jalg_gali - Tue Jul 15 09:25:32 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. An ad valorem tax (Latin: according to value) is a tax based on the value of real estate or personal property. An ad valorem tax is typically imposed at the time of a transaction (a sales tax or value-added tax (VAT)), but it may be imposed on an annual basis (real or personal property tax). A Specific Tax is a system of taxation where the level of tax is fixed and independant of the value of the item being purchased.

How do you get an ad on the front pages of Yahoo, and how much does it cost?
Q. I want to advertise. I've been told it costs thousands of dollars to do so, if you'd like your ad to appear on the front of the search engines.

A. Contact their ad dept and you will pay according to the number of exposures--using THEIR numbers, which means there is no answer to your cost question. It is whatever they feel you owe them.

A. Religion and advertising, don't usually mix, it may be difficult to get your magazine promoted, due to the Christian theme. You can mail a copy of the publication and ask if it something advertising agencies would consider promoting. Recommend that you mail copies of the magazine to churches and residents of Baton Rouge, to see how they respond and offer a one-year free subscription to new subscribers.

What are the margins in the online ad network business? Any good articles on it?
Q. I am wondering how profitable the online ad network business is. Someone mentioned to me it is at best 10% gross margin business - is that right? Any articles or data on it someone could point me to?
Asked by john m - Sun Oct 21 15:27:24 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Well, that depends upon how much you spend per month. If you are spending in excess of a million per month, then 10% is probably close, but may be a little low. However, I only spend about $10,000 per month, and my margins are usually above 50%. The smaller you are, the easier it is to find little niches where there is a large profit margin. You can't do that with a big budget, though, there aren't enough small niches available.

Q. Hi, I have built up a highly informative property investing web site that is receiving aprox. 1000 targeted visitors every day (aprox. 30,000 unique visits monthly) How do i go about 1. Determining what to charge for the ad space? 2. How do i attract potential advertisers who can also capitalise on the traffic Cheers
Asked by Emma F - Tue Apr 1 10:27:07 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. That's some amazing traffic you've got there. I would have thought you'd have emails every day with requests to buy advertising. I suggest visiting 10-12 websites similar to yours that sell advertising space. See what they are charging. That should help you come up with a fair and reasonable amount. As far as attracting advertisers, you'll need to add an "Advertise With Us" link leading to an order page. With 30,000 hits per month, I don't think you even need to spend any money on search marketing to attract advertisers.

Amongst the other dimensions will be a bleed area, assuming you are using a full page ad, that is the size you should create your file; there will be a trim area, that is the size the ad will be trimmed down to; there will probably also be a type or safe area, this is the area is where you can safely place type or critical information without it being trimmed off or obscured by the binding process this is a guide only try to avoid going right up to the edges. What do you think of Hillary running an ad attacking Obama on something that was already proven a lie?
Q. The partial quote about republicans being the party of ideas. He went on to say they were all bad ideas. Now Hillary is running an ad repeating the lie. He said the republicans have been the party of ideas but that the ideas were bad. Clintons left out the part where he said bad. Convenient. It has already been exposed in many newspapers and tv stations.

What is best way to deal with an online advertiser whose ad is deceitful and misleading?
Q. Bought a pedal exerciser and couldn't tell until I opened the box that it is motorized. The picture in the ad purposely shows no electrical cord, and there is no mention of it anywhere in the ad or on the box it came in. Company now refuses to pay for shipping back to them, which I suggested as fair to me because they were deliberately deceitful.
