What school supplies does a kid need for kindergarten?
Q. My daughter starts kindergarten in the fall and I am unsure as to what supplies she will need, if any. When we signed her up for kindergarten they did not give us a list of supplies she would need, and it completely slipped my mind to ask. When I was in kindergarten, I don't remember taking any supplies, but times have probably changed since then. Thanks in advance for your help.

What supplies do you need after giving birth?
Q. I'm throwing my sister a baby shower and I wanted to get her like an "after birth kit". Since I've never given birth, I'm not sure what she will need! I want to give her stuff that she will need at the hospital. She is having a planned C-Section. Also, since there are probably less supplies needed when having a c-section versus vaginal delivery, what are some supplies she can use at home to help during the recovery period?
Asked by sarasoreo - Tue Jun 23 23:36:26 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You could pack her up a pretty bath robe for her to lounge around in, some fluffy socks, aspirin, yummy flavored hot tea packages, and a box of chocolates! Also, don't forget to include some aspirin cause she'll need it. You could include some fun magazines and a few dvd's for her to watch while she's recuperating in the hospital, as hospitals tend to get a little boring. Good luck! :)

What supplies does a beginner need to knit a scarf?
Q. I have no experience with knitting, but would like to knit something. What sort of supplies do I need, other than needles and yarn? Also, what size needles is recommended for knitting scarves or for beginners?
Asked by Anita - Tue Jul 31 23:08:25 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. On the label of 99% of yarns, there is a "gauge recommendation". It tells you how many stitches and how many rows are in a 4" swatch with a certain sized needle (and usually crochet hook too). This is only a rough estimate for sizing, but the needle they use is the suggested size. Watch out for both the US #x and the x.xx mm. Needles should be labeled with both too. I would recommend a smooth yarn for first time knitters. It's easier to see how the stitches fit together and correct mistakes. Needles come in a variety of materials. Spend the extra few dollars and get the clear (glass-like hardness) acrylic or metal needles. The pearly plastic ones are cheap and a pain in the @$$ to work with.

What school supplies do I need for 8th Grade?
Q. In September I'll be in Grade 8. Since this is my last year of elementary school I want to be really prepared and make a good first impression with my teacher, so what school supplies do I need? I usually buy all my school supplies before hand because if I wait until school starts to buy what my teacher tells me to it's usually all gone and then I have to go to a dozen stores to find a particular item. So please if you were in Grade 8, answer this question. Please be as detailed as you can.

What supplies/tools will I need to make a simple glass bead necklace and bracelet?
Q. I am interested in making my own glass bead jewelry, but I have no idea where to start or what to do. I've checked a couple websites but they use terms I don't understand or the directions are too confusing. What would be a good glass bead project for me to start off on, and what basic supplies and tools do I need to buy to start this hobby? Thanks!

A. when I wanted to start a few months ago I went to the craft store and bought a cheap beginner kit. It has what you need to make just practice pieces, once you get familiar then you can start spending the money on the glass beads that are available. I personally switched to crystal once I got the hang of it. Super easy and fun to do. I believe the beginner kit will also come with your basic tools. Good Luck

A. first off dont worry you wont kill them. , an air pump rated for the size of your aquarium, some airline tubing and either an airstone or airwand, whatever you want. if you have a bit larger tank or want more than one stone add a gang valve box it will take the one hose coming from the pump and give you 2 or up to 5 tubes on some models. and last and yet very importnat is a check valve. any pet shop should carry all of the supplies you need, heck i think walmart has all that stuff for a larger tank a powerhead is usually good but it seems like your asking more about air bubbles

A. All of those places have good deals, but getting good quality materials for cheap is almost impossible when you talk about good quality oil paint. Most oil paint raises in price the more pigment that you have, so if you paint with more expensive colors and better quality paints they last longer. For example Blockx vermillion one of the purests and bests in the market will stay the same color when white is added, but goes for about $80 for 35ml tube, Gamblin are good, grumbachers are good,Holbein is very good and will last you,Lapia Arts colors are great and very pure.Lefranc & Bourgeuis paints one of the best. What are some important hurricane supplies when you have a baby?
Q. My brother and sister inlaw aren't too bright. With Tropical Storm Fay possibly being a Hurricane by the time it hits my family my mom is worried they won't be properly prepared. What are some additional supplies one must have on hand for a baby? Anything special you wouldn't necessarily stock up on for just older kids/adults? What are the most important supplies/tools needed for an office?
Q. These supplies are needed for a business that helps people. I just want to be sure we have all we need to begin with and go from there.
Asked by A.P. - Sun May 6 21:40:27 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Computer (with internet connection) telephone, fax machine, printer, and at least a desk, chair, and filing cabinet. You'll be using paper (for the copier and for yourself) pens/pencils, file folders, envelopes, stamps, etc. If you're running the business you will probably need an accounting program for the computer (like Quicken) so that you can keep the financing straight. If you'll be helping people in the office, you'll need a waiting area with some seats and some reading material for while they wait. A coffee maker is cheap and always a nice touch.

A. Supplies needed will be based on the services you plan to offer and the qualifications of the aesthetician. I would contact a school that has the program and inquire about the equipment they use.

How would I go about sending supplies to troops overseas?
Q. I really would like to send things to soldiers fighting in the war. I found a list of things to send, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to send them. Also, I have no idea where I would drop it off to get it to them, or where to ship it to myself. My last question is what is the best way to collect a lot of supplies? I would like it to be an effort started by myself, but contributed by the entire community. Thanks so much! I would really like to help those helping our country.

How can I get affordable diabetic supplies and insulin as an American ex-pat living in Germany?
Q. I am 26 and I have Type 1 diabetes. I am not a student, I am not married, and I am a musician, so I do not have the advantage of steady work. I have health insurance in the states, but it does not work in Europe. Due to German laws reagarding work permits, I had to buy cheap European health insurance that does not cover pre-existing conditions (aka diabetes). Currently I am busing supplies and insulin in the states and having it shipped here, but that is very expensive. Any suggestions and/or advice is welcomed! Please help!

A. U really have to find a health insurace in Germany. When you do not have it will be also the same price to got without healt insurance to the doctor (once somebody looked my teeth, and after she said that it coast 34 euro... and she did not do with anything just looked around and I had an insurance!!!). I think after every visit you have to pay 10 euros, and keep everything (invoice and others) and send to the agency where you have your insurance. But that is not sure. I made it so, but I think every agency has differet methods. Good luck!
