How do i jailbreak my new 8gb ipod touch i bought the newest update from itunes for 10 bucks?
Q. I have the version 2.2 of updates how do i jailbreak it to make it have cool stuff i'm new at this
Asked by Chris Paden - Tue Aug 19 00:40:28 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Unfortunately, since version 2.0.2 just came out you probably won't be able to jailbreak it right away. But wait a few days and an update to the Pwnage tool (Mac) or the Winpwn tool (PC) will be released. You can download that and follow the instructions to make a custom firmware. You'll just have to restore from that in iTunes by clicking the restore button while holding the option key (Mac) or shift key (PC).

What does the jailbreak do for a new ipod touch?
Q. I have the new version ipod touch. I got it on September 28th and I want to know what the ziphone jailbreak will do for my itouch. It says it gives you all these third party applications and stuff. I want to know what they are exactly. I just need a better understanding of what this thing will do.
Asked by Jamie M - Mon Nov 3 17:33:33 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Okay, Jailbreaking an iPod touch opens it up to many third-party applications that the Apple corporation cannot offer. Things ranging from new skins for your iPod to applications such as OfflineMaps are available when you do so. And if you would like to change it back, just use iTunes' restore tool and it goes back to normal. I hope that helps!

A. redsnow is for 3.0 firmware! go to the quickpwn website (www.quickpwn.com) use the program. the instructions are really straight forward. there's even a walkthrough on the website! the only reason anyone has gotten their ipod screwed up is because they were using VERY outdated programs. just follow the instructions and you'll be fine

A. Ok since no one has answered you I will. First Jailbreaking is not illegal. Second, I jailbreak iPods and iPhones for free and I do it from my house remotely. You won't have to move except to plug in your device. If you think I am doing something suspicious you can disconnect me immediately.

What is quickfreedom for to jailbreak iPod touch? And how do you jailbreak for free?
Q. I am getting an iPod touch 32gb for my christmas and I want to jailbreak it as I have heard that you can get free movies, games, music, etc. I heard about quickfreedom to do it. What is quickfreedom? And hw does it work? Also, is it safe, and does it work? I want a free, easy way of jailbreaking my new iPod, and if you have any other ways of doing this, please let me know.
Asked by PEACELOVEx - Sun Oct 25 17:27:15 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Ok Quickfreedom only works for version 2.2.1 firmware, and if your getting it at christmas it will definately not have this firmware. So you will need to use another program e.g redsn0w or purplera1n to jailbreak. Jailbreaking is mainly safe but does have a few risks involved. One downside is that jailbreaking will void your warranty.

A. If you have the 2.2.1 firmware and are jailbreaking to 2.2.1, then your entire memory will be wiped. Make sure all of your music, videos, and apps are backed up to your computer before doing this. If you have the 3.0 firmware and are jailbreaking to 3.0, then redsn0w (the only currently available jailbreaking software for 3.0) will keep all of your files on your ipod and you don't have to worry about anything. If you have 2.2.1, I recommend upgrading to 3.0 before jailbreaking. search ipod touch 2g 3.0 firmware on youtube and you will find a download, because apple makes you pay otherwise. But make sure that if you are jailbreaking 3.0 that you have the iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade (the one APPLE made) before jailbreaking or you will break your… [cont.]

Can you jailbreak an ipod touch with the software update, but still keep the update?

A. Typically the "jailbreak" apps I've seen will even put the software update on it for you even if you didn't have it (mine did). So I don't think you'll have a problem. But I'd suggest check the FAQ for whatever software you use to "break" it.

Q. I finally convinced myself to jailbreak my iphone 2g with 3.0 firmware, so I was googling and searching youtube for videos, and people have been mentioning tethered and untethered jailbreaking. I have never attempted this so I have no idea what they are talking about. Please explain the difference to me as simple as possible. Also let me know which one has better options and is safer. Q. I heard that if you jailbreak the iPhone then you can get a bunch of cool apps for free but I don't understand how to. And also, I heard that you have to restore the iPhone after to make sure that Apple won't find out if you take it in for repairs?

A. Yes I totaly agree you need QuickPwn on the web. It is the easiest way to Jailbreak. It does void warranty for jailbreaking. iPhone jailbroken, Apple will always know. You can restore to factory settings using iTunes and all the jailbreak apps will go away, but they will still know So i would prefer you do it after you are done with your warranty period

A. The worst thing that would happen is your ipod firmware "breaking" if that happens then u have to put it in DFU mode. first shut it off. the hold the home and power for 10 seconds. then release the power button and hold the home button for the 10 seconds. after u put it in DFU mode just plug it into your computer and open itunes (if it doesn't open on its own) then just click restore. later i will be doing a video on how to do jailbreaks and the best thing to have on your iPhone or iTouch when jailbroken. every onece and a while just check out my youtube GazuliGod until i have the video up

A. When apple created their iPod touch and iphone product, their main objective was to ensure that they would be able to regulate all applications on the iPod touch by controlling the only source of it, the Apple App store. The ipod will not accept any applications that lack a certain mystery "key" from Apple, meaning nothing that isn't from the Apple App store will work. By jailbreaking an ipod touch, you are essentially getting all the doors in the ipod's operating system, or firmware, unlocked. This allows you to put ANY application on it, as long as the system can interpret it. Suddenly, you can get emulators for gameboy games and play pokemon on it, and you can get games that would be on the app store, like Rolando, for free off a… [cont.]

A. you can go into itunes and back up your music, videos, etc. to a cd/dvd. First, go to file in itunes and click transfer purchases from ipod. Then Go to file and click library- back up to disc. Put a blank cd/dvd disc in. let it back up your library. The reason is because it will delete everything off your itunes and itouch. And you want to do this before you jailbreak it

A. Jailbreaking allows you to download unauthorized apps. The downside is that it voids the warranty and you can brick your phone making it into a very expensive paperweight.

A. Jailbreak means a program that install on your ipod touch which allows you to put App's on your ipod touch similar to the app store but they are all free app's. It voids your warranty if you have one and it is a jailbreak at your own risk type of deal but i have jail-broken my iphone since they came up with the jailbreak a year ago and outside of having to restore it a handful of times which is really no big deal because i have it backed up to my laptop anyway I love my jail broken iphone.
