What are the dimensions of a Heineken mini-keg?
Q. Hi, we need to get a box for a friend to package one of these up for a gift. Does anyone know the measurements of a Heineken Mini Keg? Thank You!

Q. party this Saturday. my friends wanna get a mini keg, to split between the 3 of us. on average 120 pounds. recommend it? well its for a huge party. but only the 3 of us would be drinking out of the keg.

A. i wouln't rcoment it either beacuse by the time u have carried the keg to the party it would have got "tossed" about alot and then you are stuck with 5pints of fome...it is ok jus to have the keg sitting in a fridge for a while and then drink it but not for carring around... i suggest to by a 24pack and split that will keep you going throughout the party...maybe even a bottle of whiskey of vodka to spice things up...lol hope i helped

How do I depressurize then remove the top plug on a Warsteiner 5L mini-keg?
Q. I bought a Vinotemp beer dispenser, and I want to be certain I am opening the keg properly and safely. The keg states that it is under pressure, but the real question is, how much pressure? Will the act of pulling the plug off release the pressure? Thanks, all, for any assistance. My intent is to use the mini-keg in a dispenser with CO2 to dispense the beer and preserve it for a month.

A. I take it you are talking about the 5 liter mini kegs you can pick up, if so they use gravity. Their is a small plug in the top that can be pushed open from there the tap in the bottom side is used to draw a beer. If you get one it must be consumed quickly or else it will go flat. If you are talking about the several mini keg setups for home brew I have heard they are nothing but trouble. I tried to build a transportable mini keg for taking my home brew to parties and gatherings. It was quite a pain in the butt so I gave up on it shortly

A. If you buy 10x 500ml tins from Lydal or Eurospin it will cost about 5 for 5%alc. The kegs are more expensive but the beer is the same. If you want stronger beer it will cost about 7.50. There are other discount shop that offer the same prices but the products are more or less similar. Have a good time.

A. Basically, a food grade plastic tubing will do the job just fine. But you must also consider the pressure required to push the beer the extra distance. So if a CO2 cartridge is used it will have a shorter life than with the hose that is supplied with it.

A. The Beertender only works with Heinken. The Coors light does not have built in CO2 thus it won't taste correct. The Heinken mini-keg include CO2 already in the keg. However to answer your question, some Costco's seem to have the Coors light 5L mini Kegs.

Expired beer (as long as it's packaging isn't compromised) won't spoil and be dangerous or make you sick (it would have to be REALLY old) The taste on the other hand, is a different story. I would guess it would still be OK, but it may have gone down Skunk Road by now. Just make sure it isn't your primary source of alcohol for a night, as if it is bad you don't want to be S.O.L. Or, alternatively if it is bad just wait and serve it to freshman. They won't know the difference!
